Brett Oliver's site (qv below) lists 5 children. The 1881 census lists just 3 daughters living at home.

 

Brett Oliver (Nias family descendant) states this James Drew to have been James Drew - 'Hosier - Burlington Arcade, London'. Married April 9th 1850. - their daughter Ada Josephine Drew married Frank Tompson Smythe.

James Drew - The Hosier

b. 1825 at Cefnllys, Radnorshire, Wales

James Drew, the husband of Sarah Nias, was originally thought to have been his Drew/Sheen cousin, James Drew. He was born with the same name in the same year and in the same village in Radnorshire. James Drew, hosier of Burlington Arcade, London was baptised in November 1825; his cousin James Drew was baptised in April of that year.

Relationship to Head of Household: Servant Occupation: Gen Servant (Domestic). James (Hosier) Drew had died by 1894. According to her 1894 Will Sarah Nias was a widow. There was a Codicil 10/6/1910 She died 3/3/1913 and Probate was granted 8/5/1913). The 1901 UK Census shows the following detail. Sarah Drew was living at Enfield Lodge, Thornton Heath, Croydon - in the County of Surrey.

She does not appear in the 1881 census for James Drew's household in Harlington. She remained a spinster and gave a gift at the wedding of her nephew, Henry James Drew Smythe to Enid Audrey Cloutman.
