Description of John Jullion Clock pictured: "A superb George II period London burr walnut longcase clock with 8 Day brass dial movement which strikes the hours on a single bell and the quarters on twelve bells. The finely matted brass dial has mask and foliate gilt corner spandrels with foliate spandrels and strike/silent in the arch. There is a subsidiary seconds dial and the maker's signature is on an arched disc set above six o'clock. The well proportioned arched top case has fine crossgrain mouldings and wonderfully figured burr walnut veneers." |
