MCA is a fully voluntary association. Originally set up in 1976 by academics from UNSW and UTS primarily to collect data
about the way the health system was delivering services. In the 1980s it became focused on complaints and assisting
members who had serious problems with the delivery of medical services.
The medical indemnity insurance industry has been of major concern to members in recent years and MCA has a separate website about this issue at: http://mib.8k.com
