Future in Reverse
Multiple Box Gallery, Sydney, 2003.
A limited edition boxed set of twelve images of obsolete technology juxtaposed against the never ending void of space and distant planets.
This work is a wry look at the technological achievements of our fairly recent past, from the earliest forms of aerials and radio communication to the humble domestic tea making machine. Things obsolete, forgotten, surpassed, improved on, float in the never ending void of space, rest on barren barely visited planet (Mars) or skim the surface of a lunar landscape. This work strives to put all that "progress" into perspective.
The work is also inspired by the fact that the first radio broadcasts ever made are only now reaching the edge of our galaxy.
This limited edition boxed set of prints is available for sale. Please contact the artist for the price list.
