Beverley was selected as one of the 34 finalists from 362 entries for this prestigious photography prize, with the image Habitat #3. The judging panel for the Prize were: Jason Smith (Director, Monash Gallery of Art), Tony Ellwood (Director, Queensland Art Gallery, GOMA) and Rosemary Laing (artist).

A group show, curated by Nana Ohnesorge, with works by Del Kathryn Barton, Leslie Rice, Joan Ross, Anna Pogossova and Beverley Veasey, that explore human nature's dark heart and primal instincts. The image contributed by Beverley is one from the Natural History #2 series, Study of a White Rhinoceros Cretatherium simum.

Habitats
Stills Gallery

This new series of work depicts a number of empty animals enclosures found in zoos and aquariums around the world. The Habitats spaces are vacant, leaving the viewer to ponder what animal may reside there. As more and more of the earths natural resources are destroyed, artificial spaces such as the ones depicted may be the only way in the future we can encounter other species that are under threat in the wild.
