blartermusicstarted out writing and recording jingles. As time has gone by, jingles have become a lot less popular, with viewers being more sceptical and also more familiar with highly developed sound design. As a result, blartermusic is writing music which gives mood, movement and atmosphere to the pictures, quite often composing post edit.

| The Millenium bug movie was the last in a series of 6 TVC's for Ikea's Christmas - New Years promotions. They wanted a "Drunken version" of Auld Langsyne, which we delivered happily. "White Room" was part of a series of 6 TVC's for Ikea earlier in '99. For both TVC's, the sound effects were added to the final pictures, then the music was composed. There are several slight tempo changes in each ad to make the music sync with the pictures.

| blartermusic was originally commisioned to do the voice record and the sound design for this ad. The music was to be composed by a young sydney band for the price of a few hours studio time. The band broke up shortly afterwards, and one member decided he wanted a ridiculous amount of money for his part in the music, so we had 24 hours to replace the music before it went to air. There were a couple of versions of this ad. This one is the M rated one, the G rated one doesn't have the head butt or the machine guns.

Two animated TVC's for Ricoh. I've put two different compressions of each. The bigger files are much better, but the smaller ones give you the idea.
A guide version of the sound track was composed first, to establish tempo and accents for the animator. The first draft of the animation was cut, and then the final changes were made to the sound track to match it. The ideal way to work, sadly one is seldom given the time.
