Armor Feats

The following feats grant armor tokens if you have levels in the armiger class. These tokens are in addition to those you normally get from that class.


Armor Mastery

Prerequisite: You must be proficient with the armor you are wearing (if any).

Base Mastery: 1. When rolling to determine your damage reduction against an attack, you gain a +1 bonus to the result. Furthermore, if you have levels in the armiger class, you gain 1 armor token each time that your passive defenses negate at least 5 points of damage from an opponent's attack.

Expanded Mastery: 2. If you are struck by a critical hit or sneak attack, you can make a Reflex save vs DC 10 + the total attack bonus (including all modifiers) of the attack that hit you. If your save succeeds, the extra damage from the critical hit or sneak attack is halved. You can only use this ability if you have not lost your active bonus to defense against the opponent who struck you. Note that only the extra damage is halved; you always take the full base damage from the attack.

Expanded Mastery: 8. You must also have the expanded mastery 2 feat to take this feat. You gain a +5 bonus on the Reflex save to reduce the damage from a critical hit or sneak attack.

Expanded Mastery: 3, 5, 7, 9. You gain an additional +1 bonus to all rolls for your armorís damage reduction. Furthermore, if you have levels in the armiger class, you gain 1 armor token each time that your passive defenses negate at least 5 points of damage from an opponent's attack.

Expanded Mastery: 10. You must also have the expanded mastery 2 feat to take this feat. Even if your Reflex save from that feat to reduce the damage from a critical hit or sneak attack fails, you only take half of the extra damage. If your save succeeds, you take no extra damage.

Expanded Mastery: 4, 6. As per IH p.119.


Shield Mastery

Prerequisite: You must be proficient with your shield.

Base Mastery: 1. You gain a +1 active bonus to defense when you gain a defense bonus from a shield. Furthermore, if you have levels in the armiger class, you gain 1 armor token each time that your passive defenses negate at least 5 points of damage from an opponent's attack.

Expanded Mastery: 3, 5, 7, 9. The active bonus you gain from the Shield Mastery base feat increases by +1. Furthermore, if you have levels in the armiger class, you gain 1 armor token each time that your passive defenses negate at least 5 points of damage from an opponent's attack.

Expanded Mastery: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10. As per IH pp.141-142.
