About this resource
This resource was created in 2001 to describe the rationale and procedures used in digitising for research purposes a significant unpublished collection of audio cassette recordings of music and speech compiled by Lesley Reilly nee Rourke and others at Wadeye (Port Keats), Northern Territory during the 1970s and early 1980s.

While technical standards and resources have developed in the four years since this was originally written, the underlying principles that guided our project remain the same. Because this resource may be of interest to others with similar collections to manage today, I have updated comments and information on software and hardware as well as improving the web presentation. Users interested in the older version are invited to contact me directly.
