Lady Janet Erskine
(d. 1770)

Youngest daughter of 5th Earl of Kellie who joined Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745. As a result all the Erskine lands were sequestered. The 9th Earl of Kellie, Thomas Erskine, bought the estate out of sequestration in the 1790s.

The 5th Earl married Janet (née Pitcairn) - the daughter of the celebrated Dr. Archibald Pitcairn (b.1652 d.1713). Archibald Pitcairn was associated with medicine, physiology and mathematics and was a founding member of the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh.
