Richard Irving Dacre R.A.M.C.
 
R. I. Dacre was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps, attached to the 6th Gloucesters, when he retired. He gained the 1914-15 Star, General Service and Allied Victory Medals, Territorial Decoration and Territorial Efficiency Medal and was mentioned in despatches in 1918. In all, he served for 32 years. He had a special career note as having served as a Medical Officer in every unit of the British Army during that time. He began his military service as a drummer in the 2nd.
