Tony Maxtone Graham was taken prisoner in North Africa during World War II and was imprisoned in Germany. He was not a high ranking officer but was taken as such because of his receding hairline which gave the impression of age and rank. Whilst a prisoner of war, he is known to have taken on the responsibilities of "Entertainments Officer" - with a high degree of success - especially in organising "props" and "costumes" - many of which were used in "theatre runs" of a different nature.
