Ralph Smyth, son of Ralph Leonard Smyth (1761) and Frances Clarke.

 

He married (1784 or 1785) Mary Schoales (d.1850) only child of (Alderman of Drogheda) George Schoales.

There were 3 children of the marriage.

1. Ralph Smyth, of Newtown House, Termonfeckin, Co. Louth. JP Flour Miller. Born 1786. m. Anne Crawford, daughter of the Reverend Charles Crawford, Vicar of St. Mary's Drogheda. He died in 1865.

Children of the marriage:

1i Ralph Smyth of Newtown House, Termonfeckin, Co. Louth. JP High Sheriff of Co. Louth 1869, Capt. Louth Militia. m. 1stly 1857 Mary Henrietta Smith (d. 1876) youngest daughter of Henry Jeremiah Smith DL of Annesbrook, Co. Meath. There was a son of that marriage. Ralph George Smyth b. 1864.

m 2ndly 1878 Maria Georgina Brabazon, (d. 1908) youngest daughter of James Brabazon JP of Mornington, Co. Meath. See Burke's Peerage "Meath E."

1ii Mary Frances Smyth (d. 1903) m. 1866 Sir Robert Forster, (d. 1904) 4th and last Bt. of Coolderry, Co. Monaghan (See Burke's Peerage 1904 Edition) There were no children of the marriage.

2. Robert Geoffrey Smyth, died young

3. Mary Hannah Smyth m. 1812 St. George Smith (d. 1873) of Greenhills, son of Henry Smith of Beabeg. Mary Hannah Smyth died in 1844. There were children of the marriage.
